A/R: School placement is free so beware - GES asks parents to report scammers to police

The Municipal Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Ghana Education Service (GES) in Tano South, Ahafo Region, Prince Agyemang Duah, has cautioned parents against paying for their junior high school (JHS) wards to gain placements into senior high schools (SHS), during the ongoing school placement drive in the country.
He said GES had received several complaints from parents concerning unapproved charges for school placements for schools preferred by their wards.
He emphasised this was unacceptable and unlawful.
He warned parents to stay alert against schemes seeking to scam them, when the school placement was free of charge.
He urged parents and guardians to channel any school placement challenges to the appropriate authorities, citing the Free Senior High School Regional Office in Bechem, the municipal capital, and municipal resolution centers.
He used the opportunity to urge parents to report any unapproved charges to the nearest GES office or police for the necessary actions to be taken against any immoral act.
Agyemang Duah spoke to Class Media Group (CMG) reporter Kojo Mframa.
