Addo Kufuor sworn in as KsTU chancellor
A former Minister of Defence under former President John Agyekum Kufuor's administration, Dr Kwame Addo Kufuor, has been sworn in as the first Chancellor of the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) in the Ashanti Region.
The former Manhyia Constituency legislator was sworn in by the Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia at a ceremony held on Friday, 30 September 2022 at the University's Great Hall.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice President said Dr Addo Kufuor's wealth of experience as the Board Chairman of the Suame Magazine Industrial Development Organisation (SMIDO) has given him an in-depth knowledge of technical and vocational education.
Dr Bawumia expressed confidence that the "man of integrity" will help prepare the university for greater heights to achieve world-class status.
He also touted the achievements of the NPP government in the technical and vocational education sector in the country.
Dr Addo Kufuor, for his part, promised to give all the necessary support and assistance to the management and council of the university to rise to be one of the top institutions for information and communication development training in Ghana and the world.
