Dr. John Jinapor launches Bii-Kunuto Educational Fund to boost access to education in Gonja kingdom
The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Jinapor, has participated in the official launch of the Bii-Kunuto Educational Fund, a major educational initiative spearheaded by the King and Overlord of Gonja, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I.
The ceremony, held in the Gonja Kingdom, also featured the inauguration of the Fund’s Board of Trustees, a move aimed at ensuring strong governance, accountability and long-term sustainability of the initiative.
The Bii-Kunuto Educational Fund is designed to expand access to education, empower young people with relevant knowledge and skills, and create lasting opportunities that support human capital development and socio-economic progress, particularly within the Gonja Kingdom and surrounding communities.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Jinapor commended Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I for what he described as a visionary and transformative intervention in education.
He noted that investing in education remains one of the most effective ways to secure inclusive development and unlock the potential of future generations.
Dr. Jinapor also conveyed the commendation and best wishes of President John Dramani Mahama to the Overlord of Gonja, applauding the King’s leadership and commitment to improving educational outcomes.
The launch of the fund has been widely welcomed by stakeholders as a significant step toward strengthening education and accelerating development in the Gonja Kingdom.
