E/R: Nkawkaw SHS appeals for support to complete sickbay project

The Headmaster of Nkawkaw Senior High School, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed, has issued a passionate appeal to government agencies, old student groups, and benevolent organisations to help complete a much-needed sickbay for the school’s growing student population.
With over 3,000 students currently enrolled, the school lacks a dedicated healthcare facility and is forced to use a science laboratory as a temporary sickbay.
The situation has raised serious concerns about student health and emergency response on campus.
The appeal was made during a ceremony where the 1992 alumni year group donated medicines worth GHC 50,000 to the school.
While expressing deep gratitude for the gesture, Alhaji Mohammed stressed that the long-term solution lies in the establishment of a fully equipped sickbay.
He revealed that the 1992 year group had already taken a significant step by initiating construction of the facility, but additional funding and support were urgently needed to bring the project to completion.
Chairman of the 1992 year group, Mr. Edward Asante, underscored the importance of the donation, noting that the health and well-being of students were critical to academic success.
He urged the students to remain focused on their studies, reminding them that education is the gateway to a better future.
The initiative by the 1992 year group has reignited hope among staff and students, with many calling on stakeholders to rally behind the cause and ensure the school receives the healthcare infrastructure it urgently needs.
