GA/R: Dansoman 2 Basic School makes history, defeats AlphaBeta in reading quiz competition

Dansoman 2 Basic School has made history by clinching first place in a highly competitive inter-schools Reading Quiz Competition, outshining several prestigious institutions, including the renowned AlphaBeta International School.
The triumphant team — Lawrence Andor, Nancy Avortrie, and Reginald Lamptey — represented the Ablekuma West Constituency and delivered a performance that stunned many, marking the first time a public school has outperformed AlphaBeta, a private school long regarded as an academic powerhouse in the area.
Their victory was guided by the Head Teacher, Mr. Emmanuel Bachuri, with strategic coaching and support from teachers Ruth Yamoah and Jasmine Haygan.
Their dedication and mentorship played a vital role in preparing the students for this remarkable success.
The win has drawn praise from the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Rev. Dr. Kweku Addo, who described the achievement as a milestone not only for the school but for the entire constituency.
“This victory is not just for Dansoman 2 Basic School — it is a victory for all of Ablekuma West. It proves that with the right guidance and belief, our public schools can compete and win at the highest level,” he said.
