MoH reduces application form fees for nursing training institutions

The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has announced a significant reduction in the cost of application forms for health training institutions across the country.
Effective for the 2025/2026 academic year, prospective applicants will now pay GH¢150, down from the previous fee of GH¢200.
The Minister made the announcement during a stakeholder engagement in Accra, where he emphasized the government’s commitment to making health education more accessible and affordable for all Ghanaians.
“This reduction is part of our broader strategy to remove financial barriers and encourage more young people, especially those from less privileged backgrounds, to pursue careers in healthcare,” he stated.
The reduction is expected to ease the financial burden on thousands of prospective students who apply annually to nursing and midwifery training institutions across the country.
Stakeholders in the health and education sectors have welcomed the move, describing it as a positive step toward expanding the nation’s healthcare workforce and improving service delivery in the long term.
