N/R: Gender Ministry launches investigation into school feeding concerns at Buaduyili Primary School
The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has commenced investigations into concerns raised about the quality and quantity of meals served under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) at Buaduyili Primary School in the Nanumba North Municipality.
In a statement, the ministry said it had taken note of media reports highlighting complaints from parents and teachers regarding meals provided to pupils under the programme.
The ministry assured the public of the government's commitment to ensuring that all beneficiary children receive adequate, nutritious and quality meals in a safe learning environment.
It noted that the Ghana School Feeding Programme remains a key social protection initiative aimed at reducing hunger among schoolchildren, improving enrolment and attendance, and enhancing the nutritional wellbeing of pupils nationwide.
According to the ministry, investigations have been initiated in collaboration with the Ghana School Feeding Programme Secretariat to establish the facts surrounding the reported incident.
It stated that appropriate sanctions would be applied against any individual or entity found responsible following the outcome of the investigations.
The ministry further indicated that the government, through its Reset Agenda, is implementing measures to strengthen social protection interventions and improve the financing, monitoring and implementation of the School Feeding Programme to enhance efficiency, accountability and service delivery.
It stressed that any action or omission that undermines the objectives and standards of the programme will not be tolerated.
The ministry also called on regional and zonal coordinators, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, community leaders, the media, parents and the public to continue supporting efforts to monitor the programme and promote transparency and accountability.
MoGCSP reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the integrity of the Ghana School Feeding Programme and ensuring that it continues to support the growth, development and education of Ghanaian children.
