COVID-19: Methodist Church Ghana donates to gov't, health agencies
The Methodist Church Ghana, has presented numerous protective items to the government and health institutions to fight COVID-19.
The items include two drums of industrial Ethanol, 200 gallons of sanitisers plus paracetamol and cash.
The donation was made to the Ministry of Health, Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR), Ghana Prison Service and the Methodist Health facilities.
Nana Kwabena Agyei Mensah – Chief Director, Ministry of Health, applauded the church for their prayers and donation.
The Presiding Bishop mentioned that such a crisis is God’s own way of calling the attention of nations that He alone is the true God who must be honoured and feared and that all men must seek Him.
The Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, noted that the Methodist Church Ghana, is known for its social responsibility programmes, thus, he appreciates that this act of generosity is an indication that the church and the state have a greater opportunity to increase their collaboration.
The Methodist Church Ghana also donated to its health institution in rural areas such as Hweehwee, Wenchi, and others.
The donation includes GHS20,000 to the Ministry of Health, GHS10,000 to the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR), GHS5,000 to the Ghana Prisons Service, and GHS30,000 to Methodist Health Institutions.
The cash is for the purchase of items like liquid soap, tissue, hand gloves, masks, thermometers, veronica bucket among others.
