Ghana’s first think tank to specialise in foreign policy and international relations, the Council on Foreign Relations Ghana, will, on Friday, 26 February 2021, mark its second anniversary.

According to the Council, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will organise a special 2nd Virtual Conference on Wednesday, 3 March 2021 on the topic: “Know The Beginning Well, Governance, Democracy, and Development in Africa.”

The Conference will have the former Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa and currently the President of the African Centre for Economic Transformation, DKY Amoako as the Guest Speaker.

The Council was initially registered in 2011 as a non-partisan, non-governmental and non-profit organisation.

It was formally inaugurated in February 2019 by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The council has “successfully organised three virtual conferences on a variety of topics.”

It published in “2020 two issues of its journal, the Baobab and hosted the launch of the memoirs of one of its members and President, ambassador D K Osei.”

The Council is also currently engaged in “a number of research into aspects of Ghana’s foreign policy and related programmes to train the media to report better on international issues.”
