The victims of the fatal accident which occurred at East Legon have been confirmed as two 12-year-old girls.

This was confirmed by police following the collision involving their vehicle, a Honda Acura (registration number GR 2542 - 23), and a white Jaguar (registration GN 7801 - 20) driven by a 16-year-old, the son of Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako of Alive Chapel International.

The collision was devastating, with the impact trapping the girls inside the Honda Acura. In response to this tragedy, Cornerstone International Academy, the school the girls attended, announced an early mid-term break from Tuesday, 15 October to Friday, 18 October 2024. The school expressed its condolences in a heartfelt letter to parents, stating: “Our thoughts and prayers remain with the affected families. We wish those hospitalised a speedy recovery.”

Following the accident, police apprehended Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and the young driver's mother, Mouha Amoako, for their involvement in the case. Both are currently assisting authorities with their ongoing investigation.

Preliminary police investigations indicate that three of the five occupants in the Honda Acura were rescued. Two of the injured were treated and discharged, while a third remains hospitalized. The young driver of the Jaguar and his passenger also received medical attention.

Four days after the accident, police confirmed that the parents of the suspect driver are in custody and cooperating with investigators.
