EU donates non-lethal equipment to Ghana Armed Forces

The European Union (EU) has donated non-lethal equipment to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) to strengthen the military’s operational capacity and enhance national security efforts.
The official handing-over ceremony took place at the 49 Engineer Regiment, with dignitaries including Ghana’s National Security Advisor, who represented President John Dramani Mahama, and the EU Ambassador, representing the President of the European Commission.
The donated items include civil engineering equipment, advanced communication systems, and riverine assets.
These will support human security initiatives, reinforce border protection, and aid in countering security threats across the country.
The government, under President Mahama, continues to implement various social interventions to improve civilian welfare while ensuring national security remains a top priority.
The government expressed its appreciation to the EU and all stakeholders for their continued support in strengthening Ghana’s security infrastructure.
Officials also commended the media and attendees for contributing to the success of the event.
This partnership between Ghana and the EU marks another milestone in enhancing the nation’s defence capabilities through international cooperation.
