The 16-year-old, the son of renowned Ghanaian pastor Bishop Salifu Amoako, has been sentenced to six months at a senior correctional centre following his involvement in the accident at East Legon, Accra, which resulted in the deaths of two young girls.

The incident occurred on Saturday, 12 October, when the teenager, driving unsupervised, collided with another vehicle, sparking a fire that consumed both cars.

While the teenager and his passenger managed to escape, the two young girls in the other vehicle tragically lost their lives in the blaze.

The driver of the other car and one of the girls were rescued.

The teenager pleaded guilty to eight charges, including two counts of manslaughter, and was sentenced by the court.
