Ellembele: NDC supporter killed in accident, 23 others injured
A member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been reported dead in an accident that occurred at Azuleneno, a community in the Ellembele Constituency of the Western Region.
The incident occurred on Sunday, 22 November 2020.
The deceased was run over by a vehicle while taking part in a campaign walk organised by the party.
The walk was led by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah.
Twenty-three others were injured in the incident.
They were rushed to the Ekwe Catholic Hospital.
The cause of the accident is yet to be explained by the police in the area.
The incident follows the death of seven members of the NDC within the Ejura Sekyeredumasi municipality of the Ashanti Region after a road crash over the weekend.
A similar incident also occurred at New Edubiase in the Ashanti Region when a bus carrying some NDC supporters got involved in an accident on Friday, leaving at least 20 people injured.
