Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, has praised the leadership of David Asante, who managed the Ghana Publishing Company from 2017, describing him as a resilient and effective leader who revitalised the state-owned enterprise.

Speaking on social media, Mr Cudjoe highlighted Mr Asante’s quiet but impactful efforts to restore the company’s fortunes.

“He worked silently for months to rebuild the company from its decrepit depths and returned profit in 2021 to 2023 after paying dividends to the state,” Mr Cudjoe noted.

He added that Mr Asante’s leadership included the opening of the Kumasi branch and the introduction of digital management practices, which he attributed to what he termed “Bawumia’s effect.”

Mr Cudjoe emphasised that Mr Asante’s approach demonstrated strategic foresight and dedication.

“David was one of the very few good men Nana Addo got right,” he said, underscoring the former CEO’s role in transforming Ghana Publishing Company into a profitable and efficiently run institution.

While Mr Cudjoe admitted that he had yet to review the records of the current management, he commended Mr Asante’s tenure for setting a high standard in public enterprise leadership.

He noted that the example left by Mr Asante should serve as a benchmark for future managers in state-owned institutions.
