GIPC CEO champions technology transfer to boost Ghana’s pharmaceutical sector
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr. Simon Madjie, Esq., has emphasised the pivotal role of technology transfer in fostering innovation, transparency, and value addition within Ghana’s pharmaceutical industry.
Speaking at a workshop on the Legal and Regulatory Framework for Technology Transfers in the Pharmaceutical Sector, held in Accra, Mr. Madjie stressed that adopting advanced technologies is essential to positioning Ghana as a competitive hub for pharmaceutical investment in the region.
He announced that the GIPC is reinforcing its facilitation mandate by establishing a dedicated Technology Transfer Department and enhancing collaboration with regulatory bodies to better serve investors and local enterprises.
Mr. Madjie noted that such strategic moves will help boost local production capacity, stimulate research and development, and support sustainable sectoral growth.
He reiterated the Centre’s commitment to advancing initiatives aligned with the government’s 24-hour economy vision, aimed at maintaining Ghana’s appeal to global investors while building a resilient and internationally competitive pharmaceutical industry.
