Ghana Army assumes security duties at Jubilee House in 44th guard changing ceremony

The 44th edition of the Guard Changing Ceremony was held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Jubilee House, the official seat of Ghana’s government, marking the official transfer of security responsibilities to the Ghana Army.
The quarterly ceremony, which rotates security duties among the country’s armed forces, ensures a continuous and structured protection system for the Presidency.
With this latest transition, the Ghana Army takes over from the Ghana Air Force, which has completed its three-month deployment.
The Ghana Navy had previously handled security before the Air Force.
President John Dramani Mahama, along with senior government officials, were present at the event to witness the formal handover.
The guard-changing tradition underscores the commitment of Ghana’s military to safeguarding the nation's highest office through discipline, rotation, and readiness.
The Ghana Army will now be responsible for security at the Jubilee House until the next scheduled rotation in three months.
