Ghana's Defence Minister Congratulates Pope Leo XIV on election as Bishop of Rome

Ghana’s Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has extended warm congratulations to Pope Leo XIV following his election as the 267th Bishop of Rome and leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
In a message shared on his official Facebook page, Dr. Boamah, a devout Catholic, praised the newly elected Pontiff, formerly known as Robert Francis Cardinal Prevost, for his deep spirituality, vast knowledge, and experience.
“We trust you'll lead Holy Mother Church with your amazing depth of knowledge, experience, and spirituality,” the minister wrote, shortly after the Vatican’s announcement.
Dr. Boamah also expressed gratitude to the College of Cardinals, stating, “Thanks, Conclave, for giving us Robert Francis Cardinal Prevost, the 267th Bishop of Rome.”
Pope Leo XIV succeeds Pope Francis and is expected to continue the Church’s mission in a rapidly changing world, focusing on spiritual renewal, social justice, and global peace.
The new Pope’s election has been met with celebration across the globe among 1.2 billion Catholic communities, with many expressing hope for a dynamic and inclusive papacy
