NHIA celebrates Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings over election as Second Vice President of Pan-African Parliament
The Governing Board of the National Health Insurance Authority (National Health Insurance Authority) has paid a courtesy call on Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, to congratulate her on her election as Second Vice President of the Pan-African Parliament.
The visit, which took place on Wednesday, May 14, 2026, was led by NHIA Board Chairman Larry Adjetey Esq and brought together members of the Board and management to formally celebrate what they described as a significant achievement for Ghana and the Authority.
The Pan-African Parliament, an organ of the African Union, serves as a continental platform for promoting integration, cooperation, and democratic governance among member states.
The delegation included NHIA Chief Executive Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe, Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu, Hon. Mohammed Ramadan, Dr. Sadat Bawa, Prof. Ernest Yorke, Dr. Abiba Zakariah, Dr. David Tetteh, Ms. Francisca Atuluk, and Dr. Ken Tweneboah Koduah, among others.
During the visit, a Citation of Honour was presented to Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings on behalf of the Board and Management of the NHIA, describing her election as a “remarkable achievement” that reflects her leadership, dedication to public service, and commitment to African development.
The citation further noted that her accomplishment brings pride to Ghana and serves as an inspiration to young women across the continent.
Speaking on behalf of the Board, Chairman Larry Adjetey Esq commended her achievement, stressing that members made time out of their schedules to personally celebrate her milestone, describing it as a reflection of their collective pride.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings, visibly moved by the gesture, expressed gratitude to the delegation, saying the support made her feel deeply valued, especially in moments of personal reflection.
She attributed her election success to divine grace and acknowledged the responsibility ahead, pledging to serve diligently in her new role.
“I am always ready to serve and learn.
My voice is your voice on the Pan-African front,” she said.
She was elected Second Vice President of the Pan-African Parliament on April 30, 2026, securing 131 votes against her opponent’s 51.
The position places her within the Bureau of the Parliament, which provides leadership and direction for its legislative and advisory functions.
Her election has been widely described as a boost for Ghana’s representation in continental governance structures.
