PRINPAG calls for fairness and gov't's inclusiveness in 2025
As Ghana welcomes the year 2025, the President of the Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG), Andrew Edwin Arthur, has extended warm wishes to members of the media fraternity, encouraging a year of growth, success, and renewed vigour in their professional endeavours.
In his New Year message, Mr. Arthur highlighted the indispensable role of journalism as the Fourth Estate of the Realm and commended members for their commitment to professionalism and ethical reporting, especially during the crucial December 2024 general elections.
Reflecting on the evolving dynamics between the media and the state, Mr. Arthur emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration to ensure holistic national development.
He urged the media handlers of the incoming administration to uphold fairness and inclusivity, avoiding discrimination against any media outlet.
“Let us ensure that no media house is left out in the dissemination of information.
Fairness and inclusivity must guide our interactions to strengthen trust and transparency in the media landscape,” he stated.
As part of his vision for fostering collaboration, Mr. Arthur proposed the creation of a unified media platform to streamline the equitable distribution of government information.
He expressed confidence that such an initiative would enhance trust, cooperation, and transparency among media practitioners.
He further underscored the significance of empowering journalists through training and capacity-building programmes to adapt to the evolving demands of the profession.
With a renewed call for excellence and integrity in journalism, Mr. Arthur encouraged PRINPAG members to continue championing the principles of truth and accountability in the year ahead.
“May 2025 be a year of prosperity and promise for us all as we uphold the highest standards of our noble profession,” he concluded
