You've disgraced me with your unwarranted attack on journalist – Salifu Amoako tells congregation
Bishop Salifu Amoako, father of the 16-year-old boy involved in the tragic accident that claimed the lives of two young girls at East Legon on Saturday, October 12, in the Greater Accra Region has condemned the actions of some members of his church who assaulted a reporter from EIB Network following court proceedings on Thursday, October 17.
Speaking to his congregation at Alive Chapel International on Sunday, October 20, Bishop Amoako expressed deep regret over the incident and stressed the importance of self-control and understanding during difficult times.
He called on his followers to act with compassion and avoid creating further conflict, reminding them to consider all perspectives surrounding the tragic event.
"ACI family, control yourselves," Bishop Amoako urged. "You came to the court and disgraced me. What you did was unwise and has only added to the battles I am already facing. It was a shameful act, and it should never have happened."
The Bishop emphasized that the court is a place to seek justice, not to create chaos.
"The case is now in court. We don’t go to court to fight but to interpret the law. Some of you were lucky you weren’t arrested. By now, you should be in jail for what you did."
In his address, he made it clear that he had not asked his church members to intervene on his behalf. "I have not called you to come and fight for me," he reiterated, urging his congregation to leave the matter to the legal process.
