Young officers and non-commissioned officers graduate from Jungle Warfare School

The Jungle Warfare School at Akim Achiase in the Eastern Region has officially closed the Young Officers Course (YOC) and Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Course (BNTC) 1-25, following a rigorous six-month training programme.
The graduation ceremony, held on Friday, July 11, 2025, marked the successful completion of tactical, leadership, and jungle warfare training for 60 commissioned officers under the YOC and 58 non-commissioned officers under the BNTC.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Guest of Honour and Commander of the Army Training Command (CATRC), Brigadier General Joshua Amanor, noted that the training was designed to sharpen the participants’ operational readiness in jungle tactics, leadership, and internal security counterinsurgency operations.
He urged the graduates to build on the solid foundation laid during the course and embrace continuous learning as a critical part of their professional growth.
“Let the knowledge and experience gained here guide your actions in the field,” Brigadier General Amanor stated.
“Use your reference materials, reflect on your lessons, and commit to upholding the standards of excellence in your military career.”
He also commended the instructors and supporting staff for their tireless dedication and professionalism in mentoring the trainees, describing their role as instrumental in shaping the future of the Ghana Armed Forces.
Commanding Officer of the Jungle Warfare School, Lt. Col. Jacob Cudjoe, congratulated all course participants for their endurance and discipline throughout the training.
He extended special recognition to Lieutenant Bright Effah and Private Dzizah Ebenezer, who emerged as the overall best students in the YOC and BNTC, respectively.
Lt. Col. Cudjoe also acknowledged the second and third-place achievers in both courses, urging all award winners to live up to the distinction and represent their units with pride and excellence.
