COVID-19: Evaluate China’s situation and advice – GUTA to GHS
The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) has raised concerns about its members travelling to China for business.
This comes ahead of China’s lifting of its quarantine requirement for inbound travellers beginning Sunday, 8 January 2023.
In a statement issued on Thursday, 29 December 2022, signed by its President Joseph Obeng, the union urged the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to evaluate the “situation in China and advice Ghanaian travellers accordingly.”
It noted that: “China is a major destination of import for many Ghanaian traders, and as a result of the long wait, most Ghanaian businesses will want to resume their business trips…”
Expressing concerns about China’s current COVID-19 situation, GUTA called on the GHS to “evaluate the situation” and advice the travelling public accordingly.
