COVID-19: Ghana’s active caseload falls to 5,779; death toll 1,084

So far, 1,084 people have died of the virus in Ghana since mid-March 2020

Ghana’s active COVID-19 cases have fallen to 5,779 as of 5 September 2021, the latest figures from the Ghana Health Service indicate.

The death toll increased by one to 1,084 within that period.

Also, some 180 new cases were recorded within the period.

Of the active cases, 51 are critical and 129 severe.

Since mid-March 2020, a total of 122,543 cases have been recorded in Ghana.

Out of that number, 115,680 have recovered.

Greater Accra Region - 65,844

Ashanti Region - 20,340

Western Region - 6,947

Eastern Region - 6,154

Volta Region - 4,721

Central Region - 4,384

Bono East Region - 2,428

Bono Region - 2,060

Northern Region - 1,704

Upper East Region - 1,393

Ahafo Region - 1,039

Western North Region - 988

Oti Region - 773

Upper West Region - 607

North East Region - 256

Savanna Region - 205
