Cipla launches its operations in Ghana
Cipla, a leading global pharmaceutical company, today, Wednesday, 13th March 2024, officially commenced its operations in Ghana with a launch event held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
During the launch, Cipla reiterated its commitment to ensuring equitable access to high-quality medication and healthcare throughout Africa, underscoring its decision to expand its presence into Ghana.
The company's therapeutic portfolio spans across respiratory, gastro, cardiovascular, diabetes, pain management, flu, cold, and anti-infective medications.
In alignment with its mission, Cipla expressed its intention to collaborate closely with Ghanaian healthcare professionals to forge enduring partnerships. Additionally, the company emphasized the importance of patient education to enhance treatment outcomes.
Furthermore, Cipla revealed its readiness to engage with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to facilitate easy access to medication and promote affordability for all Ghanaians.
Speaking to Classfmonline's Abenaa Amoanimaa Osei during the launch, Mr. Mawuli Atiemo, the Country Head for Cipla Ghana, highlighted the strategic choice of starting operations in Accra and Kumasi. These two cities, he explained, serve as central hubs from which the entire country can be efficiently reached.
"At present, we are establishing our presence in Accra and Kumasi as hubs. These cities serve as central locations to reach the entire country," stated Mr. Atiemo.
He elaborated that Accra would primarily cater to the southern regions, including the Eastern, Volta, Central, and Western Regions, while Kumasi would cover areas such as Bono, Ahafo, and the Northern Region.
Cipla expressed enthusiasm about investing in Ghana, driven by its ambition to foster a sustainable and impactful presence in the country, ultimately contributing to the improvement of healthcare services nationwide.
