GA/R: No beds syndrome hits Weija Gbawe Municipal Hospital

A visit to the Weija Gbawe Municipal Hospital at McCarthy Hill in the Greater Accra has revealed a dire situation of no beds for patients seeking urgent medical care.
The hospital, which is supposed to provide essential health services to the community, was overwhelmed by the high number of patients and could not accommodate them, leaving many stranded.
The reports suggest that patients who arrived seeking immediate medical attention were forced to wait for extended periods, with no space available for them to be treated.
In addition to the bed shortage, there were reports of alleged neglect, with doctors and nurses failing to attend to patients promptly.
This left many people frustrated and in distress, as they struggled to receive the care they urgently needed.
The hospital’s lack of resources and infrastructure has raised serious concerns about the quality of healthcare available to residents in the area.
As the situation continues, calls for urgent reforms and improvements in hospital facilities and staffing are growing louder.
The crisis at Weija Gbawe Municipal Hospital highlights the pressing need for better management and increased investment in the public healthcare system to ensure that no patient is left without proper care.
