Ghana deepens diplomatic ties with Barbados, second team of nurses to depart this month
The second batch of Ghanaian nurses and allied health professionals are scheduled to depart for Barbados this month, as part of the ongoing Ghana-Barbados cooperation in healthcare and human resource exchange.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the continued strengthening of relations between Ghana and Barbados, following a meeting between the sector Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Barbados’ Prime Minister, Mia Amor Mottley.
In a post shared on his social media pages, Mr. Ablakwa expressed admiration for Prime Minister Mottley, describing the encounter as “a joyful honour.”
He commended her for her “courage, clarity of vision, compassion and commitment in advocating for justice for the global south.”
He also reaffirmed the two nations’ shared commitment to championing global financial reforms, United Nations reforms, health sovereignty, and reparatory justice.
The partnership between Ghana and Barbados continues to serve as a model for Africa-Caribbean collaboration, rooted in shared heritage and mutual development goals.
