Ghana’s COVID-19 load hits 28,989 with 25,331 recoveries
Ghana has recorded 559 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total national caseload to 28,989.
So far, 25,331 patients have recovered.
The death toll is 153.
The total number of active cases is 3,505.

Briefing journalists on Tuesday, 21 July 2020, the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye said: “As of yesterday [Monday] when we concluded our collation of the results, we had 3,505 active cases. This represents 12.2 per cent of all the cases ever reported”.
He said the recoveries account for about 84.7 per cent of all cases reported.
“This gives us a cumulative figure from the 12th of March, since we recorded our first case. We have recorded 153 deaths which accounts for 0.53 per cent of cases”, Dr Kuma-Aboagye noted.
So far, the total number of tests conducted is 353,752.
He also revealed that as of 21 July 2020, a total backlog of 23,000 COVID-19 samples are awaiting clearing.
