MoH pays salaries of 321 pharmacist interns, assures rotation nurses and allied health interns of imminent payment

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the successful processing and payment of salaries for 321 Pharmacist House Officers who completed their housemanship in 2024.
This development marks a significant stride in addressing long-standing financial obligations within the health sector.
In an official statement signed by Deputy Director and Spokesperson Tony Goodman, the Ministry acknowledged ongoing concerns raised by the 2024 batch of Rotation Nurses and Allied Health Interns. These interns, who began their national service in May 2024 and completed it in May 2025, are yet to receive their salaries due to delays in securing financial clearance under the previous administration.
“The delay stems from the inability of the previous government to secure the necessary financial clearance before the commencement of their rotations,” the statement clarified.
To address this, the Ministry revealed that it is collaborating closely with key government agencies to fast-track the clearance process and ensure the timely disbursement of all outstanding payments.
“This effort reflects the Ministry’s broader commitment to resolving salary arrears across all health worker categories and ensuring that every qualified professional is supported in delivering essential healthcare services to Ghanaians,” the statement noted.
The Ministry also reassured all affected interns that their concerns are being treated with urgency, adding that steps are being taken to implement long-term solutions to prevent similar delays in the future.
