S/R: Lordina F'dn Maternity and Children’s ward begins operations
The newly-built Lordina Foundation Maternity and Children’s Ward at the Bole District Hospital in the Savanna Region is now fully operational.
This comes after the required soft furnishings and additional supplies and medical accessories were provided by the former first lady and President of the Foundation, Mrs Lordina Mahama.
The ward has begun receiving patients.
On Tuesday, 26 July 2022, former President John Dramani Mahama and his wife gifted the Bole community the 45-bed ward.
It was a gesture to mark their 30th marriage anniversary.
The 865sqm ward has 10 baby cots, 5 weighing scales with height measurements, a Kangaroo mother and child care centre, a delivery room with two delivery beds, and a recovery ward.
Mrs Mahama, who was enskinned as the queen mother of the Bole traditional area, said at the donation ceremony that her foundation will continue to support the health care system in the country.
