Teshie: FDA closes Italian Boy Lounge following suspected illicit drug raid
The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has closed Italian Boy Lounge at Nungua Kantamanto in Accra after an operation targeting the alleged possession of illicit drugs.
The exercise was conducted on Friday evening as preparations were reportedly underway for the night's activities.
Two employees were taken into custody to assist with investigations, while the premises were sealed off.
Officials also recovered substances suspected to be illicit drugs during the operation and seized them for further examination.
The FDA has not yet released details of the substances recovered or the circumstances surrounding the raid.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by the Authority, working with other state agencies, to tackle the distribution and use of unauthorised substances in entertainment venues and other public places.
Investigations remain ongoing.
