2020 polls: Alabi leads NDC campaign team

Prof Joshua Alabi has been appointed as the Campaign Manager of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 7 December 2020 polls.

A statement signed by the party’s Director of Communication, Mr Kakra Essamuah, said the appointment was made by the leadership of the party at its Functional Executive Committee (FEC) meeting held on Monday, 29 June 2020.

The former flag bearer aspirant is to be deputised by former Health Minister Alex Segbefia.

Also, Lt. Col. Larry Gbevlo-Lartey (rtd) has been appointed as the Director of Operations of the campaign with Mr James Agyenim Boateng as the Campaign Spokesperson.

Mrs Mawuena Trebarh and Ms. Margaret Ansei are the Deputy Campaign Spokespersons while Gen. R S Blay (rtd) is the Strategic Advisor to the Campaign Team.

Other members of the team include Mr Sammy Gyamfi, National Communication Officer; Mr Julius Debrah, former Chief of Staff; Mr Kofi Totobi Quakyi, Mr Haruna Iddrisu, Minority Leader; Mr Hudu Yahaya, Mr George Opare Addo, National Youth Organiser; Mr Sam Pee Yalley, Dr Valerie Sawyer, Mr Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Director of Elections; Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, National Chairman; Mr Victor Smith, Comrade Joshua Akamba, National Organiser; Dr Hannah Louisa Bissiw, National Women’s Organiser; Alhaji Mohammed Mamah, National Zongo Caucus Coordinator; Mr Samuel Sarpong and Dr Nana Ama Brown Klutse.

The statement said: “All campaign activities will be under the policy direction of the National Steering Committee to be chaired by the National Chairman, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo. In accordance with the party’s constitution, the coordination of all the various aspects of the campaign will be under the leadership of the General Secretary, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah”.

The party said further information on the Steering Committee and the campaign structure will be announced later.
