#2024Polls: Independent candidate Nana Kwame Bediako (Cheddar) placed 3rd
Nana Kwame Bediako, alias Freedom Jacob Caesar or Cheddar, placed third after results were declared by the Electoral Commission (EC) for Ghana's 2024 general elections.
Mrs Jean Mensa, the EC Chairperson, spoke on Monday evening, December 9.
She noted the results declared, though adequate to clearly point out the winner, did not include that of 9 constituencies.
She explained results from Awutu Senya East, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Akwatia, Suhum, Techieman South, Dome-Kwabenya, Ablekuma North, Ahafo Ano North and Damongo had not be received because party supporters had beseiged the EC's collation centres.
In all, John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) came up tops, securing a return to the Jubilee House. He polled 6,328,397 votes (56.55%).
Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, was second with 4,657,304 votes (41.61%).
In third place was independent candidate Cheddar of the New Force, polling 84,478 (0.05%).
After him came, former NPP member, former Minister of Trade & Industry Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen of the Movement of Change (M4C) with 31,202 votes (0.28%).
In the fifth position was the Convention People's Party (CPP) led by Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankuma polling 23,397 votes (0.21%).
