3 candidates in the race as EC schedules Kpandai rerun for Dec 30
The Electoral Commission (EC) has formally declared that the Kpandai Constituency currently has no Member of Parliament.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, the Commission said the decision follows a ruling by the Tamale High Court on Monday, November 24, 2025, which ordered a rerun of the Kpandai Constituency parliamentary election within 30 days.
The EC further disclosed that it received official correspondence from the Clerk to Parliament on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, notifying the Commission of the vacancy in the membership of Parliament arising from the court’s decision.
Consequently, the EC confirmed that the Kpandai parliamentary seat has become vacant.
The Jean Mensa-led Commission announced that the rerun of the parliamentary election in the Kpandai Constituency will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
According to the EC, the rerun will be contested exclusively by the three candidates who participated in the 2024 parliamentary election in the constituency.
