Drivers and traders at the Kumasi Racecourse Market in the Ashanti Region have issued a strong warning to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, demanding that their deteriorating road network be fixed or they will boycott the December 7 elections.

The road network in the market, located in the heart of Kumasi, has worsened over time, developing deep gullies that have severely impacted economic activities.

Drivers told Class 91.3 FM’s Elisha Adarkwah that navigating the poor roads has become extremely difficult, forcing them to spend daily on vehicle maintenance due to the damage caused.

Traders also expressed their frustration, noting that the poor condition of the roads is discouraging buyers from visiting the market, which is negatively affecting their businesses.

Both drivers and traders have called on the government to urgently repair the roads or risk losing their participation in the upcoming general elections.
