The Kwabre East Municipal Assembly joined the rest of the nation in observing the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, holding its maiden edition at the El-Shaddai Assemblies of God Church in Mamponteng.

The Republic of Ghana, under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, officially commemorated the day to promote national unity, spiritual renewal, and gratitude.

The event in Kwabre East reflected the broader national theme, “Reflect, Reset and Renewal for National Prosperity.”

The solemn occasion brought together a cross-section of the municipality, including religious leaders, students from selected senior high schools, and key local government officials.

In attendance were the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Joseph Amankwah, and Member of Parliament, Mr. Oyina Achampong, who both played active roles in the programme.

Clergy from various Christian denominations led powerful sermons and prayer sessions, interceding for peace, wisdom, and development for the nation.

MP  Oyina Achampong drew from Romans 12:2 in her message, urging Ghanaians to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind,” and called on all citizens to embrace positive change for national progress.

In his closing remarks, MCE Joseph Amankwah echoed the event’s theme, emphasising the need for personal and collective reflection, a resetting of values, and renewed dedication to national development.

“This day reminds us that progress begins with a renewed mindset.

When we reflect and reset, we position ourselves—and the nation—for real transformation,” he said.
