President Akufo-Addo has made significant changes to the leadership of the Finance Ministry.
Abena Osei-Asare, who previously served as the Deputy Minister for Finance, a member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) representing the Atiwa East constituency, has been appointed as a Minister of State at the Finance Ministry.
She takes over from Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, who has been appointed as the substantive Finance Minister following the departure of Ken Ofori-Atta on Tuesday, 14 February 2024, after serving in the role for seven years and two months.
The NPP's parliamentary candidate for the Juaboso constituency in the Western North Region, Dr Alexander Ampaabeng, has also been appointed as the Deputy Minister for Finance.
This appointment follows the promotion of Abena Osei-Asare from the deputy ministerial position to a minister of state.
