Appointments Committee vet three key ministerial nominees today

The Appointments Committee of Parliament will convene today, Monday, January 13, 2025, to vet three of President John Mahama's ministerial nominees for key government positions: Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, and John Abdulai Jinapor.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson: Finance Minister-Designate
Dr. Ato Forson, the Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam and the current Majority Leader, has been nominated as Minister for Finance.
He will be the first to appear before the committee, where his financial expertise and strategies for driving Ghana's economic recovery will be thoroughly examined.
Dr. Dominic Ayine: Attorney General and Minister of Justice-Designate
Following Dr. Forson’s session, Dr. Dominic Ayine, nominated as Attorney General and Minister of Justice, will take the stand. The committee will assess his legal qualifications and his plans for advancing justice, promoting transparency, and strengthening Ghana's legal framework.
John Abdulai Jinapor: Energy Minister-Designate
The vetting proceedings will conclude with John Abdulai Jinapor, the energy minister-designate.
He is expected to outline his vision and strategies for achieving a stable, reliable, and sustainable energy supply to support Ghana's development agenda.
