Bagbin pledges renew committment in 9th Parliament
Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has been re-elected as Speaker of Parliament, marking another historic milestone as he assumes leadership of Ghana’s 9th Parliament under the Fourth Republic.
In his acceptance speech, Bagbin expressed profound gratitude and humility for the confidence placed in him by Members of Parliament.
“It is with great humility that I accept the high and privileged office of the Speaker of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana,” he said, acknowledging the immense responsibility that comes with the role.
Bagbin reflected on his political journey, expressing heartfelt thanks to God and Parliament for the trust reposed in him.
As Ghana’s longest-serving legislator, Bagbin highlighted the significance of his extensive experience and the lessons learned throughout his career.
The Speaker pledged to continue serving the nation and its legislative body with dedication and impartiality, emphasizing his commitment to fostering unity and collaboration among Members of Parliament.
