Bawumia donates GHS200K to victims of Kejetia market fire
Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has presented a cash sum of GHS200,000 to the victims of the Kumasi Kejetia market fire outbreak.
Part of the Kumasi Kejetia market was razed by fire on March 15, 2023, where about 50 shops were affected, leaving 33 of them completely burnt.
The Vice President who visited the market on March 20, 2023, promised that the government would support the victims to return to business, but the promise has since not been redeemed.
As part of his campaign tour of the Ashanti region, the Vice President and NPP flagbearer presented GHS200,000 to support the victims when he met with the traders in the Market today, Tuesday, 11 June 2024.
The announcement of the money was made by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly called Wontumi.
