The National Concerned Small Scale Miners Association of Ghana (NCSSMAG) has announced that the vice president and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is complacent and has no better way of dealing with the Small-Scale Mining issues in the country.
The NCSSMAG in a press statement, accused Dr Bawumia of being a chief partaker of “the gruesome and dubious agenda of collapsing our business and making the Chinese lords over them in their motherland since the NPP and Nana Akufo-Addo took power in 2017.”
The statement exclaimed that “even more bizarre is the fact the Dr. Bawumia and his NPP still believe that the small-scale miners of this country, have any shred of confidence in the NPP to salvage that which they themselves have ruined; the NPP is a painful reminder of what a crass and incompetent government can be, and never again are small scale miners going to vote for such a crude party.”
The NCSSMAG also questioned how Dr Bawumia intends to rescue the small-scale mining business after helping President Nana Akufo-Addo to collapse their business.
“We wish by this press release to remind and also ask Dr. Bawumia to tell us how he intends to rescue the small-scale mining sector after helping Nana Akufo-Addo to collapse same,” the statement said.
The miners called on all “well-meaning Ghanaians and small-scale miners whose livelihoods have been shattered by the NPP in the last seven years due to the insensitive ban on small scale mining to reject the party at the polls, come December 7th 2024.”
