Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has expressed confidence that the ruling party will secure a decisive first-round victory in the upcoming December general elections.

Chairman Wontumi was speaking at a campaign rally for NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in Bosome Freho on Saturday, 9 November 2024.

He said: “We will win the December polls. We are winning on the first try, with no rerun. On December 7th, victory is on our side. We are winning!”

Chairman Wontumi’s comments reflect a growing momentum as the NPP intensifies its campaign efforts, rallying support around Dr Bawumia’s presidential bid.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman firmly believes that Dr. Bawumia will emerge victorious and become the next president of Ghana, further underscoring the party’s confidence in a landslide win.

During the campaign tour, Dr Bawumia highlighted the significance of the NPP’s flagship Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, which has helped to expand educational access for disadvantaged communities across Ghana.

Speaking in Asante Akim Central, Dr. Bawumia stated: “The policy was designed to assist the less privileged” and break down barriers to education for society’s most vulnerable.

At Bosome Freho, Dr. Bawumia addressed the region’s pressing infrastructure issues, particularly the poor state of roads.

He promised to prioritise road repairs if elected, saying: “I know your biggest challenge is road infrastructure. I promise to fix all deplorable roads when I am elected. So, I urge you to give me the mandate.”
