Dec. 7 polls: NDC will not tolerate election day intimidation – Ashanti Regional Chairman vows
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Augustus Andrews Nana Kwasi, has firmly stated that the party will not accept any form of intimidation in the upcoming December general elections.
Speaking at a rally in Obuasi on Wednesday, during the Ashanti Regional campaign tour of NDC Vice-Presidential Candidate Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Mr. Nana Kwasi emphasized that the NDC has implemented a comprehensive plan to safeguard its votes.
He called on NDC members and supporters to show up in large numbers on election day and vote decisively for NDC Presidential Candidate Mr. John Dramani Mahama, as well as for the party’s Parliamentary Candidates.
Commenting on the state of development in the region, Mr. Nana Kwasi promised that an NDC government would work closely with traditional authorities to promote progress across the Ashanti Region.
He also highlighted women’s empowerment as a top priority for the next NDC administration, pledging that financial independence for women would be championed through the establishment of a Women’s Development Bank.
He encouraged the electorate to vote massively for Mr. Mahama to “reset the country,” create employment opportunities for the youth, and drive economic empowerment for women.
“The NDC’s ambitious plans for the Ashanti Region can only be realized with the support of the people,” Mr. Nana Kwasi emphasized.
