Economy rebounding under Mahama- Defence Minister Jabs micro-Minority NPP

Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has taken a swipe at the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), accusing them of repeating the very mistakes that led to their electoral defeat in 2024.
Dr. Boamah, in a statement on his Facebook wall, described the current NPP minority as a “micro-minority” and said the party is “sinking in the same mud” that brought about what he called their “most humiliating defeat in recent memory.”
“The economy is improving and it's beginning to translate into tangible benefits for Ghanaians under President John Dramani Mahama,” Dr. Boamah stated, adding that the government's focus remains on consolidating gains made in the post-pandemic recovery.
He also praised the vigilance of citizens and civil society groups in safeguarding the integrity of the 2024 general elections, claiming that but for their alertness, the NPP would have succeeded in manipulating the voters’ register.
“Thank God you all helped us to stop their attempts to rig the 2024 elections,” he said. “We’ll stay focused on the ball.”
Dr. Boamah’s comments come amid renewed political tensions in Parliament and increasing scrutiny of the Mahama administration's efforts to stabilise the economy and tackle unemployment.
