Effutu NDC supporters protest over James Kofi Annan’s exclusion from Mahama’s gov't

Some supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Effutu Constituency of the Central Region have staged a protest over the party leadership’s failure to appoint 2024 Parliamentary Candidate James Kofi Annan to a position in President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
The angry supporters stormed the NDC Constituency office, chanting protest songs and destroying party property in a show of displeasure.
Some also burned party materials as they demanded an immediate appointment for James Kofi Annan in the ongoing government formation.
According to the protesters, James Kofi Annan has been a pillar of the party in Effutu for over eight years, demonstrating unwavering commitment and dedication.
They insist that his loyalty and contributions to the NDC make him deserving of a government position under President Mahama.
Expressing their frustration, the demonstrators emphasized that they would not relent until their demands were met, warning the party leadership to rectify the situation immediately.
Some supporters, speaking to the media, outlined James Kofi Annan’s achievements and sacrifices for the party in Effutu, urging the national leadership of the NDC to reward his dedication with an appointment.
