The Government has assured traders at the Suame Market of support following the recent fire outbreak that destroyed goods and disrupted livelihoods.

During a tour of the market, a government delegation led by Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang extended heartfelt sympathy to the affected traders and their families, acknowledging the devastating impact of the incident on their businesses and community.

The government pledged to back efforts toward the reconstruction of the market and provide assistance to traders to help them rebuild their enterprises.

“Markets are not only spaces of trade but also vital pillars of community and national development,” she noted, reaffirming the government’s commitment to restoring the economic hub.

In remarks delivered during the visit, she emphasised the importance of unity in tackling national challenges, stressing that sustainable progress requires collective effort and solidarity.

The assurance has been welcomed by many traders, who expressed hope that swift action will be taken to restore Suame Market to its full operation.
