Hajia Amina Adam files for NDC race for Ayawaso East by-election
Hajia Amina Adam, widow of the late Ayawaso East Member of Parliament, Mahama Naser Toure, has officially filed her nomination to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary ahead of the March 3 by-election in the constituency.
She becomes one of six aspirants seeking the party’s ticket, joining a competitive field that includes Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Baba Jamal Mohammed Ahmed.
Speaking after submitting her nomination forms, Hajia Amina Adam said her decision to contest was driven by calls from constituents who have urged her to step forward and continue the development vision and legacy of her late husband.
She noted that her entry into the race reflects her commitment to serve the people of Ayawaso East and to sustain the work started by the former MP.
Her filing was marked by a strong show of support from party faithful and residents, who accompanied her to the party office in an atmosphere charged with enthusiasm.
