I’ve passed the job as Veep so vote for me to become President – Bawumia
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has presented a compelling case for his presidential candidacy, asserting that his extensive record as Vice President uniquely qualifies him for the top position.
During a recent stakeholder engagement at the Kasoa Odekro Palace, part of his tour of the Awutu Senya East constituency, Dr. Bawumia highlighted his achievements and criticised his predecessor’s performance.
“I have implemented 33 different policies as Vice President. The former President cannot point to one. He does not have one as Vice President. There is none. I can point to them,” Dr. Bawumia asserted, positioning his record as a testament to his capability to lead Ghana.
Taking a direct swipe at former President John Dramani Mahama, who also served as Vice President, Dr. Bawumia suggested that Mr. Mahama’s achievements fall short in comparison.
“So, it means that I have passed the job as a Vice President. So, vote for me so I become President,” he declared.
Dr. Bawumia framed his presidential bid as a choice between a “brand-new tear rubber” leader and a “home used secondhand President,” promising a new direction for Ghana.
