John Dumelo begins MP duties ahead of swearing-in

John Dumelo, the newly elected Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, has started his tenure by providing free bus rides for students of the University of Ghana, Legon, to travel home for the Christmas holidays.
The gesture is a token of appreciation for the students’ overwhelming support during the December 7 parliamentary elections, where Dumelo secured a decisive victory.
His win, particularly strong in polling centres across the University of Ghana, unseated the incumbent MP, Lydia Alhassan, and fulfilled his ambition of representing the Constituency in Parliament.
The free bus service will operate on Saturday, December 21, 2024, and will cover routes to several cities, including Kumasi, Ejisu, Konongo, Ho, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Winneba, and Elmina.
The buses will depart from the Volta Hall car park, the designated meeting point for the students.
In a message shared on social media, Dumelo expressed his gratitude to the students, writing, “Dear Legon students, let me take you back home free for your Xmas holidays.
You know I dey 4 u! Freeeeeeee Buses for all students!”
