Joyce Bawah tells NPP to 'tickle yourself and laugh' at claims of Bawumia's victory in December polls

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the Campaign Spokesperson and Special Aide to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has responded sharply to claims made by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) regarding Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s potential victory in the upcoming December elections.
Following statements by First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Joseph Osei Owusu, who asserted that research indicates Bawumia is leading in the polls, Madam Bawah urged the NPP to “tickle yourself and laugh,” suggesting that their confidence may be misplaced.
In a post on X formerly Twitter on Monday, November 4, Madam Bawah confidently declared that John Dramani Mahama is set to win the election, emphasising that the NPP’s assertions reflect a disconnect with the realities facing Ghanaians.
She highlighted that the sentiments of the electorate do not align with the claims of Bawumia’s popularity and suggested that the NPP’s self-assuredness might lead them to be surprised on election day.
Ms Bawah expressed her belief that the NPP will end up “laughing at the wrong side of their mouth” as the election unfolds.
She underscored the importance of listening to the voices of Ghanaians, who she believes are increasingly disillusioned with the current administration and its policies.
"The NPP's strategy in this election seems to be "tickle yourself and laugh."
If not, why would their party's leading figures be on a deliberate self-serving run across the country, spreading inaccurate and fake research outcomes to tickle themselves and their followers?"
"Here are the facts, and they shall remain so: Bawumia has trailed Mahama in every credible research study since 2022, including the two by the NIB.
The NDC also leads the NPP by a meaningful l number of seats in Parliament.
In fact, according to the NPP’s research findings, seats like Atwima Mponua, Offinso North, and Dome are difficult for the NPP to win," she posted.
