Mahama tasks A-G to investigate ORAL commitee findings
President John Dramani Mahama has directed the Attorney- General(A-G) and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, to launch immediate investigations into reported cases of suspected corruption uncovered by the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) committee.
The directive follows the submission of a comprehensive report detailing financial malfeasance and misappropriation of public resources identified by the initiative.
Receiving the report on Monday, February 10, President Mahama stated:"I have promptly handed over the report to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice and given firm instructions to commence immediate investigations into the cases reported here."
He further instructed Dr. Ayine to prosecute individuals found culpable of corruption or related offences.
Sending a strong warning to those attempting to defraud the state, President Mahama emphasized that corruption would no longer be tolerated under his administration.
"To those who believe they can deceive the state and avoid consequences, let this serve as a clear warning—Ghana will no longer tolerate corruption," he declared.
Reaffirming his commitment to transparency and good governance, the President assured Ghanaians of his administration’s dedication to integrity, accountability, and the rule of law.
"To those who stand for integrity, accountability, and the rule of law, I assure you that this government remains your steadfast partner in building a nation where honesty and hard work are rewarded," he added.
The ORAL committee’s report is expected to guide the Attorney General’s office in its efforts to recover misappropriated public funds and ensure accountability in governance.
